Xiphasia setifer, known commonly as the Hairtail blenny in Australia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, Hair-tail blenny in Papua New Guinea, Hair-tailed blenny in the Philippines, or the Snake blenny in Mauritius, the Philippines, Micronesia, and South Africa,[1] is a species of combtooth blenny in the genus Xiphasia.[2] It is found in the western Pacific and Indian oceans.[2] It was named by W. Swainson in 1839,[3] and can reach a maximum length of 53 centimetres.[2] It is the longest species of combtooth blenny, and is a commercial aquarium fish.[2]
